STARTER
The goal of the first module is to present entrepreneurship from multiple perspectives and convince you that it is worth trying to put your ideas into practice, to pursue your dreams and passions. We want you to be able to consider such a path in your life. It's crucial to ask yourself: do I want to be an entrepreneur?
To help you answer this question, we'll talk about what entrepreneurship is, when it starts and what forms it may take. We will convince you that entrepreneurship is everywhere! Anyone can become an entrepreneur, regardless of the field of study or interests.
KNOWLEDGE BASE
We will start each module with the Knowledge Base – a brief introduction to the topic. Relax! – we won't take you into a lecture room for 90 minutes of classes! Theoretical knowledge can be intriguing, especially when it is shared by passionate people. To begin with, we will take a closer look at entrepreneurship, which is the main focus of our course.
Did you know that entrepreneurship is a process of creation that requires having entrepreneurial intentions? What does the research say about entrepreneurship? In this episode we will answer the following questions:
- How can entrepreneurship be understood and what is at the heart of it?
- What makes it unique and attractive, even when considered from different perspectives?
- What is the difference between entrepreneurship and management and thus, an entrepreneur and a manager?
Professor Agnieszka Kurczewska will convince you that entrepreneurship is everywhere! Anyone can become an entrepreneur, regardless of the field of study or interests.
PRACTITIONER’S PERSPECTIVE
Academy of Entrepreneurship combines theory and business reality. In each module, you will find a section called Practitioner's Perspective, where you will be able to watch interviews with successful entrepreneurs.
In the first episode, our guest – business practitioner Maria Belka, will provide you, among other things, with the basic question a young person with a business idea should ask themselves. We will also debunk some myths and stereotypes related to entrepreneurship!
ZOOM ON START-UP
Entrepreneurship has different faces. Good ideas are not only generated in Silicon Valley and business can also function smoothly outside the walls of large corporations. In our Zoom on Start-up series, we will present the stories of Lodz-based companies and entrepreneurs. Although they represent various industries and are at different stages of development, they have a lot in common. What? This is what you will learn from the videos.
Meet Archizo – a start-up that has created an innovative, exclusive urban gadget which depicts architecture in the form of modern blocks. How was the brand created? What challenges did its creators face? What advice would they give to budding entrepreneurs? We encourage you to watch a conversation with Marta Nowacka and Łukasz Orzechowski, who are responsible for the success of Archizo.
Take a look at archizo.pl in your free time. You will find examples of their projects and more information about the brand.
ACADEMIC VOICE
Academic Voice is a section that takes a broader look at the story of a given start-up. We invited researchers from the University of Lodz and asked them to provide a brief expert commentary. The material on Archizo is supplemented by an analysis by Dr Jolanta Bieńkowska from the Sub-department of Management Theory, Faculty of Management, University of Lodz.
TIME FOR YOU!
The course we have prepared is not just a combination of theory and practice or inspirational talks. We encourage you to take up activities at the end of each module that will structure your knowledge and awaken your entrepreneurial spirit. All within the Time for You section!
