STARTER
What distinguishes successful entrepreneurs is the way they think and make decisions. From the previous episode, you know how entrepreneurial ideas are born. In the third module of the course, we develop this thread. You will get to know the tips allowing to start the entrepreneur's career. You will check what to do to come up with good ideas and see what makes entrepreneurs... entrepreneurial.
As always, there will be interviews, meetings with practitioners and do-it-yourself exercises that will push you forward.
KNOWLEDGE BASE
Have you wondered how entrepreneurs differ from non-entrepreneurs? We will help you: entrepreneurs are distinguished above all with the way of thinking! The different mindset of entrepreneurs is due to the fact that they function in situations characterised by a high degree of risk and uncertainty, and come across a huge number of diverse information. The theory of Effectuation created by Saras Sarasvathy has become a breakthrough in the understanding of the way entrepreneurs think. And this episode will be devoted to this theory.
You will learn, among others:
- How do entrepreneurs think?
- Where to start when you decide to become an entrepreneur?
- What principles should you follow to have the best ideas?
We invite you on behalf of Professor Agnieszka Kurczewska.
PRACTITIONER’S PERSPECTIVE
This time we're interviewing Waldemar Olbryk. We will ask about his opinion on entrepreneurial thinking. We will also ask him to evaluate Sarasvathy's principles of entrepreneurial thinking. The answers may surprise you! And what do you think about the principle that it is better to rely on and create something new from your resources, rather than focus on achieving certain goals and organise resources depending on them?
ZOOM ON START-UP
How to take care of your loved ones using technology? Can an app help your grandmother or grandfather cope with everyday challenges? The creators of SeniorApp have proved that it can. In the third module we will talk to Przemysław Mroczek and Igor Marczak, who will share the story of their start-up.
By vising seniorapp.pl website, you will gain access to the services database. You can request support, volunteer to help those in need or – simply – check out the possibilities.
ACADEMIC VOICE
Dr Monika Fabińska from the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy, Faculty of Management, University of Lodz, will use the example of SeniorApp to introduce the subject of acceleration programmes. What are these programmes? Where to look for them? What is their operation based on? Why is it worth using them? The answers await in the video below. In addition, you will learn what function business angels perform, what smart money is all about and why researching the real needs of users is crucial for success.
