STARTER

In the second module of the course, we will tell you how entrepreneurial ideas arise. What makes someone an entrepreneur? What are entrepreneurial opportunities and how do you recognize them? In addition, you will get to know three different ways to entrepreneurship and look at entrepreneurship from the practitioner’s view. Apart from that, we will make you familiar with yet another start-up and encourage you to do exercises that will help you take the next step on the way to putting your ideas into practice. Let’s start!

KNOWLEDGE BASE

As always, we will start with a theoretical section. You will learn more about entrepreneurial opportunities and the processes that lead to their appearance. You will also find information about what helps us become entrepreneurs.

Importantly, we want to convince you that the identification, evaluation and implementation of entrepreneurial opportunities can be learnt. These are not skills that we are born with. Entrepreneurship involves specific knowledge, attitude and a set of skills that can be honed. The research indicates that the environment, our experiences and education affect us to the largest extent.
Professor Agnieszka Kurczewska invites everyone.

PRACTITIONER’S PERSPECTIVE

We will ask our guest – Jerzy Czubak – about the questions that should be asked in order to be able to preliminarily determine if following a given idea is worth it because it is an entrepreneurial opportunity. We will also talk about entrepreneurial vigilance and creativity. What is their role in entrepreneurship? And is it possible to learn to be more "alert" and creative?

ZOOM ON START-UP

For many entrepreneurs, the pandemic period was a huge challenge and a struggle to survive on the market. For others – a chance for the dynamic development. Deepjyoti Nath has taken advantage of the opportunities that were emerging. His start-up, City Robotics, created Robo-UV: an autonomous robot for disinfecting surfaces. Watch the video and learn about the history of the company.

We encourage you to visit the city-robotics.com website, where you can take a closer look at the Robo-UV.

ACADEMIC VOICE

Professor Marek Matejun from the Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy will broaden your perspective on running your own business, using the example of City Robotics. The expert commentary can be found in the material below.

TIME FOR YOU!
